[Lo-W] FlusenBall

Background: This species lives in the Everfree forest and the grifixes use these bird’s fluffy coats for clothing. The species can deal with the warmer climates but can burn in the extreme heat. If they get burned the bird’s fluffy coats fall off and they have to regrow their feathery coats back slowly. A grifix found these special birds and took one back to the village for the queen to see, this grifix being a clothes designer for the village, the queen thinking this species was adorable and approved for the designer to used the dropped fluff in the bird’s nests for clothing.

Mating ritual: The birds fluff up like angry cats would and the male stands on top of the female and dances, touching his beak to the female’s head as a tuft of fluff rolls off the female’s back and a chick pops out.

Babies: The chicks are super fluffy and extremely soft, their fluff is sometimes used for very small pieces of clothing, but it’s too fragile and will fall apart mostly if not fully developed properly, so grifixes prefer the adult’s fluff since it’s more sturdy.

Adults: Adults are very round and fluffy, the fluffy shedding off of them into their nests or in the trees and tall grass where the species keeps their flock, the grifixes pick the tufts of fluffy and put it in a basket that is covered so if it’s raining it doesn’t get stuck together, taking it back to the village for manufacturing into fluff for clothing.

Uses:

-Used for clothing material and special items such as scarfs, cub blankets, winter clothes, etc

-Sometimes used for cub baby toys so the cub’s don’t get hurt, mainly used for stuffed animals

Special traits:

-Fluff can grow out to be 7 inches long before the bird sheds its feathery fluff. 

-If fluff gets burned, the fluff is no good, it will break apart. 

-Males have shed more fluff than females due to females having to reproduce fluff to make offspring.
