Cloud Watching
Water Skies sat on a cloud way above the grifix' village that he was holding together with his magic and could barely relax in the warm breeze. But he knew it was going to be worth it, and that thought pushed him through.
Millenio sat right next to him and actually did enjoy the warm breeze. They've been out for a while now, and since then, Water Skies had been looking for a cloud thick enough to squeeze it tight enough for him to sit down.
Sometimes, Millenio looked down to check if anyone was following them. He didn't see anyone else.
He looked back to Water Skies, "You should take a break and make the cloud move faster without using magic," he suggested, "or we search for a cloud there."
"Yeah, you're right," Water Skies agreed and stopped using his magic. He immediately fell through the cloud, but was already used to it, so it didn't take long until he had caught himself in the air. "I think, searching for a cloud there is a bit easier."
Millenio nodded as he floated next to him, "Let's go."
They sped up as they didn't want to be too late. Water Skies knew that what he was doing was dangerous, but since there weren't that many grifix who cared for him he felt somewhat safe. Plus, he always stayed far away and thus didn't think it was that dangerous, and he couldn't be seen anyways. Still, he was always careful.
Ponyville, one of the pony civilizations, was just out of the forest and today was a special day - pegasi would perform in Ponyville and he loved to watch them. They did such stunning moves and Water Skies always felt inspired by them. When he wasn't training to become a guard or racing his little sister, he was training those moves. Sometimes he used them in battle, making him more agile.
They had reached the edge of the Everfree Forest where he was quickly looking around for a cloud. Millenio did the same, and at the same time, they both pointed at the same cloud and said, "Look that ones great!"
It was a bigger cloud, with enough space for the both of them, and they immediately flew to it. He stopped the cloud's movement with his magic and tightened a part of the cloud for him to sit down.
And just as he laid down, a quiet signal reached his ear and smoke was seen from somewhere in Ponyville. And just moments after, a group of really small-looking ponies appeared in the sky. Now, he couldn't see everything because he was too far away, but those pegasi sure love to gloat and fly around everywhere.
Water Skies smiled excitedly, this was what he's been waiting for. He leant forwards and watched the small ponies do their stunts.
For now, they stayed in the near of Ponyville, they always did in the beginning. He saw them do loopings, spins, pirouettes, and lots of other stunts.
Now, they started to fly in formation and Water Skies grew happier. They started their bigger rounds now.
Millenio got up onto his feet and got more excited, too. He wasn't as agile as Water Skies, but that didn't make him love these shows and the inspiration they got from those.
Both would like to meet them one day, but since neither of them could be seen, it didn't matter.
The ponies grew bigger and they could recognize their colors more clearly.
There were a yellow and orange pegasus and a blue one, those stood out the most.
The pegasi all dashed with an incredible speed past them and turned in a loop back to Ponyville, but not without doing a few more stunts.
Water Skies and Millenio were in awe. It wasn't a new stunt, but watching them do spins after spins without getting even a teensy bit dizzy.
The pegasi had reached Ponyville again and that was the time for Water Skies and Millenio to return back to the village.
He let go of the cloud and released a relieved sigh as he could stop using his magic.
"Let's go," Water Skies said and Millenio hopped from the cloud. "Coming."
Together, they flew back home while chatting about what they've seen.
