Pnevma’s Tale
It was midnight during the early Spring in the Grifix Village. The air is blowing by making a nice brisk feeling through Pnévmas fur, sitting by herself hear a small creek just outside the village. Fireflies sparkling around the beautiful Grifix, making her look more graceful. The moonlight shining down on Pnévma, her night glow making a dim relaxing glow. That was when she heard some small branches crack, leaves and grass rustling.
"Hm? Who's there?" Piped up the white Grifix.
"It's only me Pnévma."
She blinked and let out her breath, smiling at the figure before her. She slowly lost her smile though and turned away from the figure, closing her eyes.
"Is something wrong? You don't usually sit here by Starlas Creek unless you're stressed or upset about something."
"Yeah...I suppose you're right, an unusual thing from me, even if it's an often occurrence. I am a bit upset though, you are right about that." Replied Pnévma, looking at the figure sitting next to her.
"I have a feeling that it's because of us isn't it?"
"Well, not exactly. There are, I guess, stranger Grifix in those huts of theirs. Lucifer and Sparrow, for instance, Lucifer is just unnaturally cold to many. Then there's Dusk Lillies who somehow knows all about Grifix history, more than many. A strange darkness within one, and a superb memory in the other."
"But yet, here you are born with an ability to talk with spirits. I think it's safe to assume that you are the most unique."
"Thank you, but...when there's uniqueness, what closely follows is loneliness", Pnévma looked at the Grifix, some tears running down her cheek. Closing her eyes; laying down with her paw sitting in the creek, "I can't control this ability. The spirits just come and go as they please. Sometimes a fellow Grifix would ask me to help with some connection or to ask a simple question. As if they forgot that I am a Grifix just like them. Can I connect the afterlife with the living? Yes, yes I can but it's not me."
The fellow Grifix just looked at Pnévma, putting her paw on Pnévmas' back to comfort her.
"I understand that Pnévma, maybe not one hundred percent but I do get it. Like how I'm known as in the Grifix Village."
Pnévma looked up, wiping her eyes, and just nodded. Taking a deep breath, slowly breathing out, calming herself down. She looked out across the creek where she saw multiple animal spirits just jumping, running, and eating as if they were still alive.
"Your special Pnévma, you bridge the gap between us and thyself", the Grifix smiled; putting her paw against Pnévmas chest, "you are a connection, but you're more than just some messenger. You may have not realized, but you've given closure to so many. Helping them accept themselves in the afterlife. As I, myself, have because of you."
Pnévma smiled and leaned over, hugging the figure, some final tears falling before breaking from the hug. Both her and the other Grifix stand up, looking out at the animal spirits and the rising sun.
"Thank you Lily Leaf, I will always appreciate you."
With a last goodbye, Lily Leaf smiled and disappeared in the sun's rays. Pnévma looked at a sudden flower that appeared where Lily was once standing.
"For you Lily, I will be your connection and your friend.
