[Lo-W4] Shiver Eel I

The text in German reads "short-circuit when threatened" aka they explode when they feel threatened

If you play Pokemon, then this is the personification of the attack "Explosion" and any other that is similar to that oop

Appearance:

Shiver Eels have a circular head and a smooth, but slick body. It starts out the same size as the head, but becomes really tiny towards the tip. There is really absolutely nothing note-worthy about the appearance of the body. EXCEPT for the fact that Shiver Eels have absolutely zero fins. They literally just have a head and a body, nothing else.

Colors:

These sea creatures usually come in dull ocean colors, plus some dull shades of yellow and white/grey. Sometimes, but very rarely, they might have lightning-shaped markings.

Habitat:

Shiver Eels live in any body of water, although they seem to have higher chances of surviving in sweet water areas. There are too many predators in the oceans.
They live in Leed if they don't try to eat it.

In the Empire era, they have gone extinct in the wild and are purely domestic. It's a bit tricky to keep them alive, but they started to manage quite well. All they need is a big bed of Leed and you're good.

Diet:

Shiver Eels love to eat Leed and could eat it all day. As Leed survives off of Grifix magic, it naturally also has magic and Shiver Eels use that magic to strengthen their electric attribute. Sometimes, they will eat other fish or whatever else with magic died from the outburst of another Shiver Eel, but that happens very rarely.

Hunting:

As they eat plants, they don't hunt them. And if they do stumble upon fish or things with magic, then that wasn't hunted, but affected by the electric outburst of another Shiver Eel. Shiver Eels would never think of hunting something!

In fact, Shiver Eels are the ones who get hunted by a lot of other things which is the reason why they are extinct in the Empire era. Whenever they feel threatened, their electricity short-circuits and they explode in electricity. Their body evaporates and everything in a 2m range will get an electric shock. The "efficiency" of the electricity decreases starkly the further away you are. At just 60cm away, it's already only half as "effective".

Miscellanea:

- Mysterious, you'll have to add the Shiver Eel to other fish's diets lol, idk whom to add
- otherwise, nothing else lol

reproduction and aging:

Shiver Eels are dependant on the Leed to reproduce and reproduce semi-sexual. A new Shiver Eel is born when a male and a female Shiver Eel rub their body against the light beans of the Leed and put some of their electricity into the light bean. The electricity only stays for a few hours in the light bean though, before it disappears into the water. So, it's rather rare that a new Shiver Eel is born.

Since the parents don't even know they created a child, Shiver Eels come to life without any fellow Shiver Eel to teach them and the vast majority doesn't even meet their parents (if they had a way to find that out, actually). Instead, it's the Leed that teaches them. The baby Shiver Eel starts to eat the remaining pieces of the light bean they hatched from and then start to eat more of the Leed. Most Shiver Eels have a closer bond to the Leed that they hatched in (they can actually tell exactly which Leed plant they hatched in) than any other Shiver Eel and they protect that Leed with their life - literally.
Shiver Eels are able to reproduce the moment they are born (since they can produce electricity as soon as they ate the "shells" of their "egg") and never stop growing. If they do, then no eel has survived long enough for the Grifix to witness.

There are no old Shiver Eels. The oldest Shiver Eels Grifix have ever witnessed became two weeks old, but most don't survive for more than five days.

The eels in the Empire Era have a much longer time span now due to having practically no predators, but a Grifix will make a mistake then and again and accidentally kill the majority of the population by popping their head in.

History:

Grifix found out that Shiver Eels are very weak and skittish scaredy-cats. They will explode at the literal sight of a big predator and Empire Grifix had the hardest time keeping up the population. They had to use their children to count the eels because they would explode at the sight of an adult.
Because of that, there has been a steady decrease in the population ever since the Grifix kept track of them. You might think that due to the Cataclysm, they became stronger since especially the Everfree Forest Shiver Eels were imbused with magic like it was nothing, but no. Their behavior didn't change and they still exploded at the sight of a big, scary predator; the range of their electricity was just bigger. And with everything changing after the Cataclysm, the decrease in their population only became worse.
Grifix are actually surprised that the decline wasn't more drastic, considering the complicated reproduction process compared to how easily they can die.

What Grifix Use Them For:

Village Grifix have honestly no use for them. They are more of a nuisance to them since a Shiver Eel can kill a cub if it explodes right next to them. They are not aware of the possibility to use the electric attribute, but even if they were, they would need a lot of eels.

Empire Grifix have tried to make use of the electricity, but they still need a bunch for simple things, so they haven't become a thing for everyone yet. Plus, they're still trying to breed the explosion part away, or at least minimalize it to a point where they don't immediately combust when seeing a Grifix. Sometimes, Scholar Grifix (or whoever else of the bigger guilds could need it) do use them for making simple things work where they are too lazy to use their magic for.

Legends and Rumors:

A giant Shiver Eel? Idk lol
