Wolf and Nebula - irl AU (story and art)

Nebula and Wolf met when they moved to California in their teens and joined a psychedelic rock band. Nebula was the singer and Wolf was the bass player. They found the band through fliers put up by the other members, who were both LA locals. The band was never famous, they just ended up playing on some small music festivals in small villages around, cause those were the only places that would take them. They would also play in small bars around LA, but they were never very appreciated. They both did drugs for recreational purposes, but Wolf got pretty addicted later on.

Wolf suffered from epilepsy and has very poor eye sight. He can see light, but that’s about all. In order to prevent seizures, he wears a blindfold most of the time. Later he developed schizophrenia as well, helped by his epilepsy and excessive drug use.

Their band was together for a few years, but eventually the other members moved on with their life. The two were dating for a while at that point, so they bought a van and started living in it, traveling from festival to festival, living off of who knows what.

Pretty soon they had a child, Bear, but it was pretty much an accidental pregnancy. They took care of him, but there was never much of a desire for them to be his parents. A few years later they decided to have a child, willingly this time, and they had Thunder. She had multiple chronic illnesses, which led to them settling back into LA and buying an apartment, so they could have easier access to medical help. Thunder would often get hospitalized for days at a time, and the parents would often spend nights in the hospital with her, leaving Bear all alone. They completely ignored Bear since the birth of Thunder. While they did provide for him food and all he would need, they never gave him any attention or emotional support.

At this point, Nebula stopped using drugs almost completely because she stopped it during Thunder’s pregnancy, but Wolf was still hooked on them.
Bear started pretty soon to roam the streets and was absent from school almost every day. He dropped out of high school pretty soon and joined a rock band as the drummer. He also knew how to play bass, but he enjoyed drums more.
When Thunder reached 12 years old, she took her life by hanging herself from a tree  in a cemetery. When her parents found her, Wolf overdosed trying to hurry his sorrow. Nebula saw the signs and desperately tried to drive him to the hospital, but got in a car crash. The ambulance managed to save Wolf, but Nebula was dead.
After that, Wolf was almost constantly drunk. They didn’t have money for drugs anymore, so he turned to alcohol. Bear avoided his home as much as possible and hated to be around his father. However, he did manage to continue enjoying his live in his band.
