Stories of the Stars: Timberwoods I

Timberwoods was born in Seaquestria and spent his first years of life underwater. He was on orphan but he wasn’t bothered by it. It was pretty much the usual for him. However, most things felt meaningless for him. He was indifferent about the world and was pretty distant most of the time. His grandfather raised him, but he was old, and taking care of a kid wasn’t easy for him.
When Timber turned 5, his grandfather fell ill and couldn’t take care of him anymore. Timber was sent to Ponyville to an old pony friend of his parents. Ponyville was now a prosperous town known in all of Equestria, and even over the borders. It was certain that there he would get a great education and learn a lot of new things.
For Timber though, it was the first time that he made more than just a few steps on solid ground. All those things that he saw - houses, grass, trees, ponies and other creatures, the sky and the rivers, they were all new and strange to him. And there he was, traveling alone to a place he didn’t know, in a completely new world. Most kids would be terrified by all that. They would break down overwhelmed by all the new things. But he was fine. It was strange and he was confused by all the things, but what could he do? There wasn’t much he was attached to in Seaquestria so there wasn’t much that he lost. Where will that train get him? He didn’t know, but he wasn’t despaired for he left nothing behind.
And there he was, stepping down on the Ponyville platform, a cheerful and excited mare running towards him, talking kindly to him and hugging him. He knew not the meaning of all those things, but for once he wanted to learn it all.
