Stories of the Stars: Drakon III

He stood there, staring intensely at his father. The old man was sitting on the rug, with food worth ten meals in front of him, eating rabbit after rabbit and uncontrollably drinking booze. His mother was sitting in the back of the room, a dark shade falling on the upper side of her face, making her expression indistinguishable, but he knew she was probably expressionless like always. Drakon could feel hatred like rivers of burning fire flowing out of his eyes, flooding the room and burning his father alive. Suddenly, his father made eye contact with him, and stopped from what he was doing, staring back into his eyes for a few seconds. Then he stood up and approached the kid without a word, still holding the booze bottle with his magic. He stopped to look at Drakon, then suddenly raised the bottle and crushed it to the wall, breaking the bottom of the bottle and remaining with the top suspended by his magic. The bottle had sharp edges, and Drakon knew exactly what his father was going to do with it. But his attention was caught by the booze that spilled on the ground. The bottle was almost full before he broke it.

“What a waste…” he thought to himself. “Some grifix worked hard for that, you have so much as you throw it away without thinking, while the other grifix are starving and haven’t tasted alcohol in years.”.

His father attempted to stab him with the bottle, his eyes dark with rage, but at the moment of impact he stopped. Drakon’s mother’s magic aura shone around the bottle. Drakon’s father’s eyes exploded with rage, he regained control of the bottle and ran madly towards his wife, then started repeatedly hitting her with the bottle.

“Why would someone sacrifice themselves for someone else… so idiotic.” Drakon thought while looking at them emotionlessly. “No… mom wouldn’t do that. It’s not like her. She did it because she hates him. She doesn’t want me to get hurt, so I can one day kill him.”

He turned around and left the tent. He passed through the camp swarming of grifix. He couldn’t understand them, they were all so stupid. He once had a friend among them, but he turned out to be the stupidest of all.

“How could one turn against the First Warriors? That’s obviously the stupidest thing one could possibly do. Ridiculous.”

For a while after his friend left, he felt alone, but the feeling soon faded away. “He is so stupid, he’s probably dead by now. They’re all so stupid it’s disgusting.”

As he was walking, his eyes made contact with a young warrior female. She was one of the prettiest females in the tribe, and she was very full of herself because of that. She smiled and waved her paw at him. He turned his look away, ignoring her. Further, he spotted Soleila, his fiancée. She was surrounded by her servants, but she saw him and he made a gesture with his eyes. She quickly came to him after that. He got close to her and slightly lifted the edge of her mask, then got his muzzle close to her face, ready to lick her. In that fraction of second, he turned his eyes to the female who smiled at him earlier. She was looking at him without moving, her eyes burning with anger and jealousy. He then pulled back covering Soleila’s face, before he could get to lick her. Soleila was trembling. He had all rights over her life, and she knew it, but what he did was more offensive than anything to a Starfell Clan grifix. Drakon pulled his mask down, then grinned behind it.

“They’re all so stupid and easy to predict, it’s hilarious!”
