DIV-513: Sandy (Sandy Shores)

Born Sandy Shores, she was the older half-sister of Honeybee. Her father and grandparents were rather conservative, hanging on to traditions. A lot of the values they taught her would stick to her for the rest of her life - but that did not stop her from seeing where they went wrong, and trying to break free.

Her mother left her father when she was very young, but her father never accepted it, justifying it by claiming that divorce was wrong in some way. Sandy ended up being raised a lot by her grandmother, because her father and grandfather claimed that raising her was a "mare's job". Her grandmother agreed. Sandy was never convinced by all that, she never understood why that would be "right".

Before her mother left her father, she had apparently cheated on him, and formed another egg with a different colt. Having to sustain two eggs at the same time did take it's toll on her - she remained sick for the rest of her life, and not the most sane person. Honeybee was raised by her and her new husband, who had very opposite views from Sandy's family. Honeybee's parents had an open relationship, and her life had little to no consistency, they would rarely be at home for Honeybee and kept pushing all sort of experimental parenting techniques on her, changing them every few weeks. Honeybee hated home, and Sandy would often wake up with her knocking on her window. The two were very close. None of them had a "good" family, they only had each other. And while they grew up with entirely different values and views, they never argued, and they were so much alike. They understood each other and never tried to change the other. As a teenager, Honeybee started dating a lot of grifix - perhaps it was her own way of dealing with the inconsistency she had at home. She had severe attachment issues, she'd change lovers every few days. Sandy was decided that she would marry the first colt she would date, and so she never dated anybody  for most of her time. Still, she would always provide support for Honeybee when she came crying.

 The two were good friends with Sunbite, Spruce and Nile - Honeybee and Nile were very close friends, they grew up in similar households and understood each other better than anyone. Spruce always had a thing for Sandy, and he eventually managed to convince her that he was the one. She was truly happy with him. She loved hanging out with everyone, but her family highly disapproved of her hanging out with Honeybee and Nile because of their views, and Sunbite for being "one of them". When Bear came along, things became even worse for her, but he was her friend and she did not approve of what her family was saying. When she and Spruce made their egg and got engaged, she was really happy. She thought her family would approve of it - they always liked Spruce. But they seemed disappointed when they found out, and not very supportive. And then in the night before their wedding, disaster struck and some grifix set fire to the room where they kept the egg. She managed to save the egg and get out with Spruce in time, but when her family came along, awaken by the fire, they seemed almost... disappointed that their egg made it out alive.

She lost all trust in them that moment - and so they all left the Village.

Next day, in the Divided Grifix camp, her friends held the wedding for them. It was then that both her and Spruce dropped their second name, welcoming their new identities as members of the Divided Grifix Camp.
