EMP-462: Kawaishi

Kawaishi’s name involves maybe different things in Japanese, ‘River, stream, stone’, and with the culture of the house it fits well. Kawaishi is a kind grifix that loves their job. Kawaishi likes to read the old sea shanties from the old pony books that Madame Thalassa had in her special book cabinet in her room, having customers come down with Kawaishi in a room filled with tables and chairs and sit as they read the shanties and the customers start to sing them while Kawaishi sings as well and offers glasses of sake to the customers.

Kawaishi grew up in the Kraken’s Lure house and usually was put on trash and thrash duty because for some reason they loved to play with the trash and thrash and tell stories while also molding the paper and foils into little characters, it making them happy and sometimes other cubs would come play with them. Some of the older grifix thought it was silly but also gross to play with trash and thrash, but if it kept a cub occupied for a while then it was okay. They always had to be accompanied by an older grifix when taking the buckets to the sewers, since grifix in the house are wary about the sewers. Kawaishi grew up to be fond of the children playing with things and using their imaginations. To show that Kawaishi is happy their little antenna will wiggle on their head and their tail will wag. 

Kawaishi is immune to the drugs the house uses like most of the grifix are, but most of the time they are downstairs reading to grifix than trying to lure them into the dark pools. At the end of the day, Kawaishi goes and cleans up the trash and thrash with the cubs and sometimes plays with them, but only when Kawaishi isn’t exhausted.
