EMP-569: Aziraphale

Aziraphale is an angel in the House of Vanity. He was always very devoted to the house, never questioning its ways. He wasn't born in the house - he was given to the house as part of a trade with another house when he was just 9 years old. He spent the first few years there in training, not allowed to take part in public events, as he wasn't someone born and raised in the house. When he was allowed to finally go out and do his job as a power, he was paired with a grifix that nobody wanted to pair with. But Aziraphale couldn't see why, he thought that grifix was absolutely delightful, and he enjoyed every moment of his shift that night.

 

But then he saw that grifix less often, and before he knew it he was gone, banished from the ranks of the angels - he was now a fallen angel. Someone who has to entertain the guests and wasn't allowed to mingle with those of the lower choir. Aziraphale missed him deeply.

 

But they kept bumping into each other, even though the rules of the house forbade them to interact with each other. Soon enough, Crowley was always next to Aziraphale, ignoring his tasks and making it hard for Aziraphale to complete his. He simply could not shake of that grifix... But the more he thought about it, the more he realized he didn't want to. His days were brighter than ever when Crowley was there with him, even if his superiors would always glare at them...
