OUT-84: Osmodeea

Osmodeea was one of the nuns closest to Aponia. She took her job very seriously - prayed every day and helped Aponia administer the Church of Time. She liked to think that she was one of the closest to the High Priestess, but that was not quite the truth, and it hurt her a bit. Aponia would go on trips alone with other, lesser ranking nuns and order Osmodeea to not question anything. And Osmodeea obeyed. She knew it was a sin to yearn for the high priestess' attention or doubt her. Yet she couldn't help the feeling.

One day she gave into it and looked at the official travel records, figuring out where Aponia was going. It was all information that was available to her, she didn't do anything wrong looking in there, her rank allowed her to see those records. Yet she felt overwhelmed by guilt - she felt like she gave into something she shouldn't have. It felt as if the devil managed to tempt her. So she swore to never look into it again.

But now she knew where Aponia was going, and no matter how hard she tried to erase those memories she could not. Aponia was traveling to the Frozen North, regularly. To a facility where some unbelievably heretic things were happening. Her faith was shaken. But she buried it deep. And she spent the rest of her life devoting herself to the High Priestess even more than before, hoping that she would be forgiven in the afterlife. Even in the last moments, when the High Priestess betrayed the gods, Osmodeea didn't lose faith. And she refused to leave, burning up together with Aponia in the flames of the rebellion.
