[Lo-W] Everlush Bird ( Create a bird species challenge )

Basic Description

- A kind of bird that molts following seasons to camouflage, but since their main residence is located in Everfree forests, they are in a deep green color.

- Have root-like, rough-feathered tails that do not have bones supporting them. Females have a maximum of 3 tails while males can have more than 3.

- Matured birds weigh around 500g while their young weighs around 100g.

- Eyes are adapted to see in the dark so the pupil part is large.

- Beaks are hard enough to break stones.

- Have thicker ( and hidden longer ) legs than most birds.

- Do not have hallowed bones like most birds. Makes them unable to fly. Instead, it makes them tougher and able to fend off predators on the ground.

- Picks up colorful items in the forest and attaches them to their bodies. Mostly berries that are edible.

- Children of these birds are just a smaller version of the matured ones with shorter tails.

- They move by using small jumps.

- Their chirps sound like marbles clashing together.

LIFESTYLE

- Omnivorous creatures compensate for their hard bones.

- The main diet consists of berries, plants, to scraps left behind by predators. Will hunt for food during the spring season. They never tried seafood due to their inability to catch them.

- Usually eats food that weighs ¾ of their weight.

- Do not have a fixed shelter. Always on the move except in winter.

- Before winter, these birds will use their beaks to break rocks and dig a cave for their flock. They will also store food in the cave. However, if the food goes out before winter ends, they will start to eat each other.

- After winter, they will come out of their cave and start decorating themselves with flowers. If they find poison joke flowers....then it will depend on them if they can resist the poison it brings.

- When near predators, they will sit down on the spot, head into the ground and feathers lay apart to mimic small bushes.

PredatorS

- Very vulnerable to any beings that run faster than them, but able to defend themselves against one single predator when the everlush isn't alone.

- Surprisingly, monkeys are their main predator. Everlush birds do not run fast so once captured by monkeys they are deemed dead.

- Another predator is the vampire jackalope. Have a low rate of survival once caught, but the birds can fend it off if there is a flock of them.

Reproduction

- Their mating season is in spring.

-  produces 3~5 eggs at a time, and will take care of their young until the young leave the flock or mature.

- However, only 2~3 young lives until maturity as they are very susceptible to diseases and sickness, and sometimes parasites. Mature birds have no problems with that other than parasites and are often immune to certain poisons depending food they consume.

- They have a mating ritual. Males in a flock will group up and attack creatures that just woke up from hibernation. However, sometimes they pick the wrong prey and ended up all killed. So you can see bloodied birds running around the everfree forest.

Relationship with Grifixes

- Everfree village residents usually won't interact with these birds. But sometimes kid grifixes will chase them around and call them "running bushes".

- The empire sometimes catches these birds for medicinal use as they are resistant to certain poisons. So usually you can find these birds in the scholars guild decorates itself with items that the scholars provided.

- Not a potential food source as their meat is tough. The berries on them however make a great food source to survive in the wild.

- Sometimes Grifixes will pick up their dropped tails and make items with them as it is tough.

- No legends are known about the bird as it's common to see them in forests.
