[Lo-W2] Demirika

Background: The Demirika are unique and strange creatures that are part giraffe and part butterfly. They live near the divided grifixes home, seeing that they are strange and unique just like they are. The divided grifix made a treaty with them and after the Demirika pass away, the butterfly wings that are on their heads are cut off and used as designs in clothing and their unique spotted skin are used as rubs or clothing as well. The divided grifix provides protection and food for them in exchange for their butterfly wings and spotted skin.

Mating ritual: The female flaps her butterfly wings and the male touches his antenna to the female’s and intertwine their tails together and the female gives birth just like a giraffe would, but instead of a placenta, the calf is in a cocoon and will break free after 2 hours of the mother giving birth.

Diet: They eat berries and leaves from tall trees as well as grass and nectar from flowers.

Babies: After the calf breaks free of the cocoon, they aren’t able to walk yet until another 2 hours pass by, the wings on their head having to be fully dry before they can stand. The calves' butterfly wings can be ripped very easily if not dry before they stand due to the species using their butterfly wings as support for standing. 

Adults: Adults can grow as tall as a normal giraffe, and the butterfly wings on their head grow bigger as well. Their coats will get fuzzy during the winter time but then shed during the summer. Adult necks are very powerful and one smack of their head can send you flying into a tree and making the tree crack and fall over. 

Uses: They protect the divided grifix as well as the grifix protect them. After their death, their wings are cut and used for clothing and when the flesh from their bodies decay, their skin is ripped off and used for rugs and clothing as well.

-The wingspan of their butterfly wings can grow while they grow taller and older

-Their wings are silky smooth while their skin is tough
