Stories of the Stars: Frozen Mountain V

The news from Eclipsa dropped like a bomb. A few weeks ago, out of nowhere, she summoned all the important grifix in the village and announced that the coronation of Selenara will be held in two weeks. It was one of the most absurd things she has ever done, two weeks were not enough time to prepare for such an important event. Everyone expected this to happen in a couple years from now - Selenara was only fifteen after all. They could’ve rebuilt part of the village for this, make a ceremony on the lake with a beautiful ship or something, but in two weeks there was really not much that could be done other than decorate the village and that’s about all. It was almost impossible to even finish the stained glass for the coronation - half of the grifix were working on that. And on top of all, the head recant was too old and sick to organize the rest, they were all just swarming around aimlessly. It was true that Eclipsa seemed more and more on edge as Selenara grew up, and they were expecting some crazy thing to happen sooner or later, but this was a bit too much.

A few days after the announcement, Frozen Mountain became seriously pissed by how disorganized everything was. They couldn’t rely on the head servant and Eclipsa just shut herself in her room and didn’t come out, while Selenara was too stressed herself to do much - besides she had to get ready herself, after all this whole thing revolved around her. Someone had to step up and organize these airheads. So he decided that if nobody was gonna do it, he’s gonna do it. His tasks weren’t much and they could be handled by Seelnara’s maids. So he just went and started ordering around, shouting a bit here and there, until everyone had a useful task. Everyone listened to him despite him not having any authority to order them around like that.

Eventually, the coronation turned out acceptably. But the problem was that after that all the servants kept coming to him asking for their tasks. He didn’t feel like it was the right thing, but when he went to ask Selenara about it she just smiled and left him even more confused than before. And as everyone kept coming to him for their tasks, he decided to just go along with it until something will happen.

Just that nothing ever happened. He was now the new head servant, and that’s how he will always remain.
