This is an old copy-pasted post from Amino. Here's the original: https://aminoapps.com/c/equestria/page/blog/grifix-introducing-the-sphirix-other-magic-manifestations/x5wn_R3i2uwrM766nd4b45WglZeeJeYPEmuB
This is the grifix I will make a sphirix for:

1. I will pick an animal and sketch it. This time it's gonna be an ermine:

2. I will make the lines in the same color as the grifix's gem:

put different parts of the body on different layers, it will make those parts glow latter:

3. Add a layer with all the lines under the other layers (you can do that by adding a layer from canvas or duplicating all the layers and marging the second ones down into a single layer):
![amino-7abb961e](https://pm1.narvii.com/7250/4b1ced6c4d665aacfdda317a447617caac4f6680r1-720-1280v2_hq.jpg)
4. Blur the lines layer:
![amino-2b5af2c1](https://pm1.narvii.com/7250/95f390c2f8e127ca1c2f5579778e8c43f565e660r1-1200-803v2_hq.jpg)
5. Set the blending mode of all the other layers to "add":
![amino-0c0b71f5](https://pm1.narvii.com/7250/d9e4f03a0a58bb3db30c0dceed0929c4d868cc73r1-1200-803v2_hq.jpg)
5. Duplicate the blured lines layer many times until it looks like this:
![amino-5f79b88e](https://pm1.narvii.com/7250/6490cf431b155d201e0757da9b89cc6d57b85a02r1-1200-803v2_hq.jpg)
6. Make the blured lines layer invisible. Add a new layer and lower the opacity to 40%. Fill the whole character with the same color as before. Don't fill the gems. It should look like this:
![amino-10c9b904](https://pm1.narvii.com/7250/9d247a15a4cf5e1c5ca30bc7228ffa86e2632aaar1-1200-803v2_hq.jpg)
7. Make the blured lines layer visible:
![amino-10a539aa](https://pm1.narvii.com/7250/59cfbc7182402d3ba136fa823f6bc2434f80e0a1r1-1200-803v2_hq.jpg)
8. Add a new layer and color the gems with the same color, but a bit darker:
![amino-20bb107c](https://pm1.narvii.com/7250/8dc955ec96362086f280a7b8dc67858b9816b1f1r1-1200-803v2_hq.jpg)
9. Add a new layer above the gems layer and turn on clipping. Set the blending mode to "add" and lower the opacity (the visibility % depends of the gem color). Draw shines on the gems with a lighter color. It should look like this:
![amino-ff6bcf27](http://pm1.narvii.com/7250/8fd7cddcfa807a1cb5d7fb9a0e3769886b331207r1-1200-803v2_hq.jpg)
10. Add a new layer above all and set the blending mode to "add". Draw shines all over the character, but not too much:
