Trait Guide

Doing this because I see a lot of people being confused and not being able to pick their traits from the trait list. Maybe having them organised like this will help. However this may not be always updated with new traits so make sure you check it in the traits list as well.
An alternative to this page, which I believe is better, is the Trait index. That index is ALWAYS up to date and properly organizes all the traits.

First of all, a few specifications:

- Do not pick traits marked as "divided" or "trifix" for common grifix.

- Don't pick God traits unless you know for sure your grifix has a god trait. Make sure the trait you are trying to pick is the right one. If it's god it may be wrong.

Some trait categories have some star symbols, which are there in order to make trait picking easier for you.
✦ = required category for common grifix. If your character is a common grifix, they surely have a trait from categories marked with this symbol.
✧ = required category for divided grifix. If your character is a divided grifix, they surely have a trait from categories marked with this symbol.
✶ = required category for trifix. If your character is a trifix, they surely have a trait from categories marked with this symbol.

Rarity color code:

common
uncommon

The trait categories here are put in the same order you find them in the trait selecting thing from the submission form. You can click on the category name to go to the trait category page. from there you can click on the magnifier icon next to the category name in order to see the traits from that category.

"Rat Tail" is the same as the griffon tail, but without hair

"Tail Fluff" can be present on any of the griffon or rat tails. In that case, the tail grows fluffs on it, but it is not the same as hair. It can have both hair and fluff. Can be present on the feline tail or sphirix tail when combined with some fluff material tiers (Smoke, Cloud, Flame).

"Sphirix Tail" means that the grifix has the same tail as their sphirix (Ex: if the sphirix is a fox, they have a fox tail. If the sphirix is a lizard, they have a lizard tail)

ADDITIONAL GEMS

Size chart for additional gems:

MAGIC GEM

These are special additional gems, that are the same size or bigger than the tear chest gems. They can produce magic, but that magic is unusable, it simply flows out.

BUTT/FOREHEAD MAGIC GEM FLOW

Depending on the amount of magic produced, the magic flow of the forehead/butt gems can become visible. In exceptional cases it can condense and create orbs.

DO NOT SELECT TRAITS FROM THIS CATEGORY IF YOU HAVEN'T SELECTED A TRAIT FROM THE "MAGIC GEM" CATEGORY.

ORB SHAPE

Refers to the shape the orbs produced by the forehead/butt magic gems can produce.

SELECT ONLY IF YOU SELECTED ONE OF THIS TRAITS: "MAGIC GEM WITH ORB MAGIC FLOW" OR "MAGIC GEM WITH ORB SYSTEM MAGIC FLOW".

If you need to use any of these, feel free to use the trait images and just change the hue/saturation in order to make it match your grifix. Most of these are very tricky to draw, so that's why I made some nice pngs of them that people can use!

LIGHT BEANS

Light Beans Alterate types:

LIGHT BEANS LIGHTSHADOW

This trait itself is legendary. Using any of these traits will count as an additional legendary trait.

WHISKERS

WING EXTENSIONS

The middle row applies to both "Top Remiges Extension" and "Bottom Remiges Extension". Does NOT apply to "Top Feather Extension".

If your grifix has one of "Top Remiges Extension" of "Bottom Remiges Extension" you MUST select one of the middle row options as well.

LOWER TORSO FLUFF PLACEMENT

NIGHT GLOW

WINTER COAT

STRANGE CONDITIONS

weird occurences on the grifix's body

SPHIRIX ANIMAL COUNT FOR DIVIDED GRIFIX ✧

Note that the grifix can only have up to 7 animals as sphirix. In the case of many sphirix, each must bear at least one gem of the 7 gems the sphirix has.

SPHIRIX MUTATIONS FOR DIVIDED GRIFIX

DIVIDED GRIFIX WINGS ✧

DIVIDED GRIFIX CORRUPTION ✧

There can be other types of corruption as well, they just haven't been discovered yet, or are too rare to note. You can do anything that goes through your mind for your divided grifix.

Sphirix Corruption Variants:

DIVIDED GRIFIX HORNS

They can take any shape, form or color, and can be made from various materials and textures. Can be placed in other places as well.

DIVIDED GRIFIX GEM CONDITION

There can be other types of conditions as well, they just haven't been discovered yet, or are too rare to note. You can do anything that goes through your mind for your divided grifix.

Inverted Gems Variants:

TRIFIX FLORA ✶

Attached to the body/wood

TRIFIX HAIR VINES ✶

These traits are based on the trifix's faction. Please check which trait is required based on your character's faction (rank/job).

The vines are always GREEN. As the trifix grows old, they become orange/grown-ish as they wither.

Cubs do not have vines.

When a young Trifix turns 13, their vines grow in but before that at age 12 their asked what they want to do. Whatever they say, the forest hears it, and the vines will grow.

Trifix can change their faction. What they do is cut the vines and seek Oracle. She'll let them in a special room where they'll "talk" to the forest and express their wish. Soon, new vines will start to grow. It's not exactly common but it still happens every so often even though most Trifix are completely happy with their role that they initially chose.

Hunters are born as hunters and they can NOT change their role.

TRIFIX TIMBERLIGHT ✶

TRIFIX TIMBERMIST ✶

TRIFIX FANGS ✶

These traits are based on the trifix's faction. Please check which trait is required based on your character's faction (rank/job).

FANG ALTERATIONS can NOT be selected on trifix.

TRIFIX CLAWS ✶

TRIFIX SPHIRIX SIZE ✶

TRIFIX TIMBERJAW

TRIFIX TIMBERSKULL

This can NOT be removed, it is part of their body, and if it were to break off, the trifix would have some pretty serious wounds as they don't have any skin under. This doesn't cover their face, it is their face.

if it breaks off, their skin can somewhat form under, but it is very clearly scarred for life.

Trifix Ear Alterations

Trifix EVERFREE FAUNA CORRUPTION

Styles

Styles are NOT traits. They do NOT have to be selected or anything like that. They are purely for inspiration.

They are often trait combinations that can look cool together, ideas, all sorts of stuff like that. They can all be found here, and you can always give me more ideas for them. Each of them has listed in the description what traits you must use to obtain that style. The rarity I picked for each is just the highest rarity of the traits it contains.

Again, they are not traits, they are just possible combinations and ideas with the already existing traits.

They have no specific order here. I just copy-pasted them from the visual trait index where you can find them updated whenever you need.

Feel free to say on discord if you have any suggestions on how to improve the trait selecting for characters, or if you have any trait ideas!
