Wolf and Nebula had a baby, and she seemed to be a normal grifix. The baby had her eyes closed, but the healers could not find her sphirix. When they did find it, they knew that she was not going to live a good life. No healer had ever seen such a thing before. Her sphirix was not an animal, it wasn’t even a breathing being. It was a seed, small, lying on the floor. They planted the seed in a pot, and hoped for the filly to still have a normal life, but as soon as the seed grew leaves it became clear such a thing was impossible. Out of the filly’s eyes, that had never been opened, branches started to grow. The filly was in a lot of pain, and nobody thought she was going to survive, yet she did not die. As she grew up, she would quietly wonder the village, never saying a word, carrying her pot with the sphirix in it. The other fillies would bully her, and throw rocks at her, and she would fall down, and wouldn’t get up until her mother would find her. “Come on Thunder, I told you many times before not to wander alone!” Nebula would say to the unconscious filly, picking her up and taking her home. Thunder never complained about the pain, but she was consumed by it, she could barely hear those around her talking. She did not understand the world, for she couldn’t focus on anything over the pain. One day she picked a shovel and planted her sphirix on the top of a hill. That night she returned home, even stronger pain killing her for being so far from her sphirix, but she acted like there was nothing wrong. From that day, she would go under her tree all the time, only returning at night, and sometimes even running away in the middle of the night. One day, she did not return. Her parents went to her tree, only to find her lifeless body hanging from the tree. It was a gruesome sight, for they could not see the tree, only the body of their beloved daughter hanging in the air. Wolf froze at the sight of the body, and ran away crying. Even if Nebula felt like everything inside of her was breaking, she did not cry. She returned to the village to get a shovel, then returned and buried the body under the invisible tree. Then she spent the night there. Many thoughts swarm her mind that night, but she knew there was nothing she could have done. Thunder was fated to die. She couldn’t live in that body.

“I hope the world is brighter on the other side. You did not deserve this.” She spoke to the night.
