EVE-363: Larimar Nimbus

Larimar is Black Zirconia’s father, Bismuth’s mate and Cloud Boreal’s twin brothers Shunson Blight Astral Blight, Spinestorm and Calibarn Storm’s uncle and Kunzite and Sandshine’s brother-in-law. He is the retired Blacksmith of the village and the founder of the House of the Rising Sun. 

 

He was the first blacksmith of the village and helped make every piece of metal used in the village up until a few years ago when he retired and gave his position to his daughter.

 

He used to be very stubborn and always had to take tools away from his daughter when she was a very young cub when he had to watch her and bring her to the workshop. Over time he did let her help him with bringing tools to him and pieces of cold I got to be heated up, and even bring wood for the fires. 

 

While he was working one day, cubs and teens from the castle that he knew of started showing up around his workshop and had no idea why they were coming around his work, the cubs sometimes knocking things over and messing up his work. He loved these cubs from the castle and he loved children, but this was becoming a bit too much at first.

 

So, he went to go take some of his metals to the castle and went to Frozen Mountain, one of his good friends, asking him why the cubs from the castle were starting to come about his workshop. Frozen Mountain explained that the cubs around his workshop were cubs he had to kick out of the castle for being bad and were sent out of the castle for the day and guessed they went to bother Larimar because they were bored. Larimar didn’t mind the cubs being around if they were bored, so he thanked Frozen for explaining what was going on and heading back to do his work while the cubs watched him.

 

The cubs and even some teens kept coming to Larimar’s workshop because of being bored, sometimes messing things up and making him have to clean more and redo some of his work, but he never got angry. But suddenly his daughter started to play with the children and show them how cool her father was, the children now being mesmerized by his work and just sat around and watched him work now, which Larimar couldn’t complain about, they were finally being good children.

 

As years went on he grew older and took some of the kids under his wing and thought of all of them as his children too, going back to Frozen Mountain and asked what his place should be called now with all the kids, even though it was still his workshop. The two males went to Queen Selenara and talked to her about this situation and they all decided to call it The House of the Rising Sun, a place where the orphaned cubs and teens came to live and play if they were kicked out of the castle for the day.

 

In present day, Larimar spends time with his wife and family, still coming to see what his daughter was up to in his old workshop since she was the new blacksmith and head of the house. He came to tell the cubs stories sometimes and sometimes show his daughter things he never taught her. 

When Flame Flicker is born:

When Darla and Astral had their son Flame Flicker, Flame became super attached to Larimar. He always begged to wear his hat when he was around him and Astral always asked Larimar to babysit for them while they were at work, and Larimar didn’t mind one bit to watch over the little guy. Larimar decided that he would give Flame a hat of his own and Flame was overjoyed and hasn’t taken off. “Thank you so much Uncle Lari!” “You’re welcome, Kiddo.”
