OUT-48: Opaline Shivers

Opaline got her cutie mark later than most ponies, so for a long time she was teased for being a blank flank, but after she got it it all became much worse, as her cutie mark represented an Umbra Crystal, which stroke fear in all ponies.

She got her cutie mark after she enrolled at the Crystal Academy, when she came into contact with a book that listed a small amount of information on umbra crystals. She realized that was all the info known about the crystals, and wished to know more, realizing that reasearching those crystals was her calling.

Most of her research is about how to protect one's self from the influence of the crystals, and how they can harm ponies, but despite all that, everyone still judges her after seeing her cutie mark. Because of that, she was always kind of a loner. 

She has a son, Crystal Shivers. His father was part Oni, part pony, which led to their son's strange horns, but he didn't stick around for long.
