TRIBE-173: Opal

She was born in the Starfell Clan, and as most grifix there her whole life has been decided before she could even speak. She had a fiancée, Jadeite, and all expected her to love him, even herself. She always maintained appearances to everyone, no matter how close they thought they might be to her. That was what a Starfell Clan grifix should do - she thought. Jadeite loved her and always opened up to her, but for her that fact that she couldn’t even decide her own life made her indifferent to anything that would happen. Most of the time she didn’t even wish to live, but she always acted like she did. One day, a timberwolf pack attacked the tribe, and in the chaos her tent caught fire. She burned inside, Jadeite unable to save her. But she couldn’t say that she wanted to be saved. She was indifferent to everything, so numb she couldn’t feel pain or fear death. Her death came as a liberation, she was finally free to decide all that she wanted to, free to have a personality and her own beliefs. And most would be surprised to see who she actually was, even she became scared of herself. Was it because of her life or was she always that way? She couldn’t feel anything for others. The souls of the dead annoyed her. The only thing that seemed somehow interesting was playing with the souls of the living. She came to see that she had no remorse for anything she would do or think. But she was happy that for once she could at least feel something.
