GRIFIX LORE UPDATE #20 - Grifix Baby Food, Lover's Stone Day, Yokai Grifix etc.
Posted 2 weeks ago :: Last edited 2 weeks ago by MysteriousShineAt least after struggling for the last few days I can get this done! But oh well, no break for me cause I have to get a trait update and a minor event done asap after posting this :') But I decided I'm gonna leave those after I post the lore update even if they're related just so I could roll this out quickly :3
This lore update was... a lot. Maybe won't be so long but the amount of items I had to create, and tutorials for each, and editing old stuff to make sure it all runs smoothly, plus shop updates :') Gosh it was A LOT.
Stick to the end, cause I'll keep the best for the last!! :3
But let's not wait any longer, here's the first thing!! For too long has this been a hole in the lore. Well... Not anymore!!!
Grifix baby food
Grifix babies require their own special kind of food, like milk for mammals. So while the parents are nurturing the egg, as the hatching date approaches, their bodies will start to grow a special kind of light beans. Unlike the usual light beans, these are soft, juicy on the inside and covered in a soft membrane. When babies hatch, they will be given these light beans to suck on. The membrane dissolves in the baby’s mouth and the juice will slowly flow into their mouth like from a milk bottle. The membrane isn’t dangerous for the baby, as it quickly dissolves into their mouth so it’s completely fine for them to eat it, and if they accidentally get it into their mouth before the contents are dissolved it will quickly dissolve before the baby could choke - so there is no choking hazard.
These light beans are full of magic and nutrients that help the baby grow, but they can only be consumed for the first 1 to 2 years of the baby’s life. After 12 months, the parents should introduce different other things to the diet, as after 2 years old the high magic concentrate of the light beans can become harmful to the body. A newly hatched baby has no problem consuming magic, as that is what is consumed inside the egg, but after 12 months the body is ready to take in actual food.
For the same reason, adults can get sick if they consume those light beans, they're not quite edible for adult grifix. Sometimes they can be used as ingredients in dishes but only in very small quantities.
The bodies of the parents instinctively know when to start growing the light beans. Generally the light beans will start to grow back the moment they are plucked, and if they are plucked quite often they will start to grow faster. But if there’s many cubs in the egg it can become a problem. It might take a few days for the body to adapt to the right growing speed for multiple babies. If the Healer realises there’’s many cubs in the egg and she is worried about it, she might ask the parents to start plucking their light beans before the babies hatch. That way, they’ll be able to speed up their light bean growing speed and also have a few spares in case they don’t have enough to make it through the first days, until their body adapts to it.
The soft light beans produced for feeding babies are not the same as the hard ones grifix produce every year, or those some have permanently. The hard light beans are actually a way for gems to cleanse by removing all bad or dirty magic from them, which condenses and falls off. It also gathers any old, “dirty” magic particles from the air of the grifix settlement. This happens at the same time for all the grifix - during the spring equinox, because the grifix’s bodies follow a magic cycle dictated by the Earth’s rotation around the Sun.
The hard light beans are not edible for anybody. They are made of dirty magic, unlike those made for feeding babies, that are the purest form of magic.
Now that's done, time for an addition to the lore of the Divided Grifix :3
Lover's Stone Day
I say that wasn't enough of the Divided! Remember the Letters of the Eclipse Tower event? Well I managed to clear the Divided Grifix Camp stories you submitted there, as well as a bunch of other story ideas that were scattered around the lorebuilding channel. You can now unlock all of them using Scrolls!!
Tales of the Divided Grifix
This is the first formal introduction of books. You can unlock the stories yourself so I won't be covering them in here, but I'll walk you through how to unlock books.
- In order to unlock a book, you must obtain the book as an item and use it.
- Right now, all the books can be purchased from Wolfsbane's Store.
- Buying books requires a special type of currency: scrolls. Scrolls can be obtained as event rewards or purchased from the Currency Exchange Store at a high price. That's because they are mainly intended to be btained in events and not from the shop.
- The easiest way to obtain scrolls is through the Letters of the Eclipse Tower permanent event. Submit any story there and you will obtain scrolls, as well as other rewards. Stories don't have to be long.
- Once you've obtained the book item, you can unlock the volume:
- Go to your inventory: https://grifixverse.com/inventory
- Find the item and click on it
- Follow the instructions in the screenshot:
- Go to World > Library
- Your volume will be unlocked and you can click on it and read it. Locked volumes will be displayed as ?????
With that I've formally introduced a new gameplay to the site... Now time for some updates and additions to an old one :3
Companions Updates
I added two new companions that can be purchased from Wolfsbane's Store, part of the Robotic Mining Assistants category:

Automated Portable Drill
This small robot can drill for a small distance, but it is quite powerful. While it might be challenging for it to drill in the hardest of materials, it is still much stronger than any paw-operated tools. It runs on magic it absorbs from the atmosphere, but if needed it can be fueled directly by a grifix.
Miners will usually have one follow them around at all times, as they are quite useful for drilling surface holes in harder materials.

Horned Roadheader
A powerful magic powered machine used for drillling paths underground. There are only few such machines in the Empire, and they were built with such hardship they are considered unreplaceable.
- These new companions also introduce a new currency system. The first Automated Portable Drill can be bought for 160
. Any additional Robotic Mining Assistants will have to be purchased using drops from the first one.
- The drops will also have additional functions, such as purchasing scrolls, or, most important, wild traits which I will introduce later in this post.
Instructions for using a companion:
-
- You can purchase companions from Wolfsbane's Store or obtain them as event rewards
- In order to find your companions, click on your profile and then go to your companions
- Companions produce drops regularly. Click on the "Drops" button to check if your companion produced any drops. Collect them if there's any drops.
- Robotic Mining Assistants produce drops that can be used to get special currencies that you can use in the shop. Other pet drops have various uses, such as changing pet variants.
- In order to change your pet variant, click on your profile and then go to your companions. Click on their image then "Change Companion Variant". Chose your desired variant and the item you want to use.
- Robotic Mining Assistants will regularly drop Raw Gem Clusters:

Raw Gem Cluster
Category: Consumables
Rarity: ✦✦
A cluster of gems excavated from the mines under the Frozen Empire. They must be processed first in order to be good for use.
Instructions for using this item:
- Go to your inventory: https://grifixverse.com/inventory
- Find the item and click on it
- Follow the instructions in the screenshot (select your desired reward):
- The jewels can be used to exchange for Ancient Gems in the MYO Shop, various items in Wolfsbane's Store or for Scrolls in the Currency Exchange store. Ancient Gems allow usage of Wild Traits. Scrolls unlock book volumes.
- When opened, Raw Gem Clusters will rewards the following currencies:
- The jewels can be used to exchange for Ancient Gems in the MYO Shop, various items in Wolfsbane's Store or for Scrolls in the Currency Exchange store. Ancient Gems allow usage of Wild Traits. Scrolls unlock book volumes.
That's it for the new companions, idk if any of this was intelligible but if not feel free to ask. Now I'll explain the wild traits, because this whole thing was essentially a way for me to figure out how to implement those.
wild traits
Wild traits are special legendary traits that require a certain item to use.
As of now there aren't any such traits, but expect them to be introduced in the following days. Stay tuned because I will anounce them on the Discord Server.
In order to use a wild trait, you will need 1 x Ancient Gem. Ancient Gems can be purchased from the MYO shop using jewels obtained from Robotic Mining Assistants, or Star Coins for a limited amount.

Ancient Gem
Category: Consumables
Rarity: ✦✦
An ancient gem that seems to have the same structure of a grifix's gem... But something ain't quite right. Should the strange magic flowing out of the cracks be a cause of concern? Perhaps keep it away from grifix eggs, who knows what effects it might have on those inside...
Uses: Used to unlock Wild Traits.
1 Ancient Gem = usage of 1 Wild Trait. You must use an Ancient Gem every time you want to use a Wild Trait.
Instructions for using Ancient Gems:
- Go to your inventory once you purchansed the item: https://grifixverse.com/inventory
- Find the item and click on it
- Follow the instructions in the screenshot:
- Once you transferred the item, scroll down to the bottom of the inventory page. On the bottom left, there's a button that says "View logs...". Click on it.
- Take a screenshot of the logs as proof that you transferred the item. It should look something like this (doesn't have to be cropped but this is the important part):
- Send the screenshot to MysteriousShine on Discord
Gosh, this is getting much longer than expected XD Just a bit more left!! We're getting to the good part now!!!
Yokai Manifestation Entities
Yokai Manifestation Entities are Yokai Manifestation characters. You can select this specis for a Yokai charcater. Not for regular yokai pets or creatures that are part of a yokai "species", because those don't need a character page.
Yokai Manifestations can take the shape of sentient creatures, like a grifix or pony-like creature. That is what is generally called a "Yokai Manifestation Entity". They are compatible with grifix and can form eggs with them, because they are made of grifix magic. If that happens, the child will be a Yokai Grifix.
They can only be found in the Entertainment District of the Frozen Empire, rarely anywhere else. They are a quite rare species, as yokai manifestations are rarely able to reach the form and intelligence of an actual grifix.
Now you might say... "That's not really anything new." Oh well... true, but this bit was necessary for the following part.
Yokai Grifix (Grifix Subspecies)
Yokai grifix are a strange subspecies of grifix, only found in the Entertainment District in the Frozen Empire.
They come about when a grifix falls in love with a Yokai Manifestation and they manage to make an egg together. The baby will be a "Yokai Grifix" - an actual grifix with yokai traits (weird wings, horns, anything goes).
They are very rare, as yokai manifestations are rarely able to reach the form and solidity of an actual grifix, and it is even rare for a grifix to actually fall in love with one. Still, the yokai-grifix traits can remain active for many generations, so there can be many descendants of a single yokai-manifestation.
Difference between yokai-manifestations and yokai-grifix
Yokai Manifestations can take the shape of a grifix like creature, but that is not a yokai-grifix. The Yokai Manifestations only exist as long as grifix believe in their existence, and they cease to exist if they leave the grifix settlement. They are made of condensed grifix magic, which is why they are sort of compatible to breed with a grifix. (you can create such characters but you must select the "yokai manifestation" species, not "grifix".)
Yokai-grifix are made of actual flesh and bone, they exist on their own and don't disappear if they leavae the settlement. Their yokai traits are formed by the magic fed into their egg by the yokai manifestation parent.
Traits
There are no traits and tiers for this subspecies, because they can basically look anyhow depending on who their parent is. If you are unsure, ask MysteriousShine on Discord about your idea, because they still have to maintain a certain amount of grifix traits to be approved.
When selecting the traits, you can only pick traits from the regular grifix. No divided or Trifix traits. There are no traits exclusive to the yokai-grifix, just regular grifix traits.
Grifix perception influence
Yokai-Grifix are quite strongly influenced by the perception of other grifix. Both their mind, personality, behavior and body can be slightly influenced by what other grifix think of them.
For example: if some grifix spreads a rumor that a yokai-grifix hates a certain type of food, they will start hating it even if they are unaware of the rumor. Their entire personality can be altered that way, if enough grifix believe it.
They body can't be influenced so easily but for example, if a grifix is in love with a yokai-grifix and thinks they're very beautiful, they might actually start to appear that way, having a glow-up out of nowhere.
Gender changing is a bit harder for them because it isn't so strongly influenced by their desire to change as it is by other grifix's perception of them, so unless they convince the others to see them as the right gender it would be practically imposible to change.
Now, grifix subspecies are usually some of the biggest events for the species. Not this one, it's a very minor one, no traits added for this one, no new settlement, no nothing. But I do still believe it's a pretty big something! It opens a lot of new design possibilities! And I can't wait to see them, so expect a myo event open for them soon! Until then you're still free to create yokai-grifix characters if you want, just that it will follow the usual rules for MYOs.
And.... That's all for now... oof XD That was a lot for me.
