This is something that will help explain the differece between original species (grifix) and stuff like Oni and Rhinos in the Grifixverse. This is a classification that is necessary in the evergrowing Grifixverse. People keep adding new stuff so it gets quite a lot to explain all the differences.
First I will add this distinction:
Intelligent species = species that have human-like intelligence, such as ponies, griffons, yaks etc.
Fauna = species that are considered animals in the Grifixverse. They do not have human-like intelligence.
Individual intelligent creature = creatures that have human-like intelligence but are not part of an intelligent species, there's only one of them.
Intelligent species distinction:
Original species = in the Grifixverse there is only one currently, the grifix. They have traits, rarities, and MYO tickets required. Highly regulated.
As of now, I do not plan to allow any new original species in the Grifixverse so most suggestions for such will be handled with other variants such as Extra Species or Yokai Manifestation Entity original species which are explained below.
MLP species = species that appear in MLP. MYO tickets not required, they have automatically assigned slots. They only have basic Grifixverse character regulation. The lore is taken from MLP and the Grifixverse generally has no right over that. We do take canon compliance very seriously for these characters.
Extra species = they fall somewhere in between the other two. They do not exist in MLP, and they only have basic Grifixverse character regulation. However the lore is original to the Grifixverse, and if a character is taken out of the Grifixverse it is forbidden to make use of the lore.
They are usually based on already existing mythological or real creatures, adapted to the Grifixverse. Examples: Oni, Giraffes, Rhynos.
They have lore and species designs exclussive to the Grifixverse.
Grifix subspecies options:
Grifix subspecies = highly regulated, they come with their own lore, settlements, traits etc. There's very few of them.
Yokai Manifestation Entity grifix subspecies = believed by grifix to be grifix subspecies or fantastic variations of grifix. They are not real grifix so they don't need any lore explanation about how these subspecies came to be. However they themselves believe to be grifix subspecies and so do other grifix. This version will be usually sugested whenever someone wants to make a grifix subspecies.
They take birth when grifix in the Frozen Empire believe that a grifix subspecies exists: that grifix subspecies will manifest into existence. But they can only exist in the Frozen Empire and they are very unlikely to form outside of the Entertainment District. They require traits and subspecies pages. The characters appear in the masterlist and require MYO slots.
Yokai Manifestation Entity original species = believed by grifix to be a species of intelligent creatures. They are not real creatures so they don't need any lore explanation about their history. However they themselves believe to be real creatures and so do other grifix. This version will be usually sugested whenever someone wants to make a Grifixverse original species.
They take birth when grifix in the Frozen Empire believe that a certain species exists: that species will manifest into existence. But they can only exist in the Frozen Empire and they are very unlikely to form outside of the Entertainment District. They require traits and subspecies pages. The characters appear in the masterlist and require MYO slots.
Yokai Manifestation Entity grifix subspecies = explained above. They require traits and subspecies pages. The characters appear in the masterlist and require MYO slots.
Yokai Manifestation Entity original species = explained above. They require traits and subspecies pages. The characters appear in the masterlist and require MYO slots.
Yokai Manifestation Entity individual = a single entity, not part of a believed species. Sometimes they will be grifix-like creatures. They can be intelligent or not. Examples: Yonaki, Chopirako, Kaonashi. They appear as characters in the Masterlist and require MYO slots. Some will also get Figure pages.
Yokai fauna species = species of yokai that are not intelligent, they behave and are considdered animals. Because of this they are not considered characters, they instead get fauna pages. They can also be used as sphirix. They can be found here. They do not appear in the masterlist, do not have character pages, but they have fauna pages.
