Pliau

Pliau are magical creatures that reside in the Everfree Forest.

Their magic speeds up the growth of plants areound them. When they walk, plants will start growing from where they drag their tail on the ground. Any seeds that are underground will sprout, even if they were dead. 

When startled they cause nearby vegetation to overgrow, covering them. They feed with certain plants they cause to grow: they prefer fresh plants, so most of the time they only eat plants which they caused to grow themselves in that moment.

When stressed their magic will cease to work.

Sometimes, Everfree healers will catch Pliau and take them to areas where certain plants grow in order for them to be able to pick those plants. They only do this in case of emergency though, cause if all the seeds emerge at the wrong time the plant population there may never grow again.

They have long quills, similar to porcupines, but those aren't their main source of defense, they only act as defense if the Pliau is attacked without them being able to react and cover in plants. Their quills are often picked up by grifix from the forst and used for jewellery.
