The Queens’ Cemetery

Legends
Legends say of a powerful, immortal Grifix living high up in mountains.

Long ago there was a grifix who's name was never recorded. This female Grifix was a servant of Starla, born just before the village was settled where we walk now. Only a child, she doesn't remember the long journey.
Starla took a liking to this grifix, her becoming very close to the Queen. After some time Starla decided to retire and pass on her immortality to The Forgotten Queen, deciding to leave the village for good, taking this grifix with her.
They travelled West where the ground met the sky, taking her to the highest point of the Mountains. There, a single apple tree with glowing gala apples grown. No more than one apple had grown on this tree. The tree itself had possessed strong magic all throughout. It's roots, it's bark, and it's leaves. So powerful that the female grifix could feel it just by standing afar from it. Starla asked the grifix to take one apple and eat it. Though she was frightened, she trusted and had faith in Starla. She ate the entire apple but soon fainted.
Time goes by until she awakens. Waking up in a beautiful cave full of decorated stones, pretty flowers, and a small crystal blue waterfall. Everything was so precisely placed. Soon enough she saw Starla, older and weaker looking, tired. Though the female grifix hadn't felt any different; she seemed fine and refreshed. Starla was aging. She asked, "My Queen, what has happened to you?" To which Starla replied, "Three years".
Giving up the magic and immortality to the next Queen. Starla aged very quickly in the span of those three years. It wasn't much longer before the Queen was to die. That is why Starla has brought the grifix with her to the mountain. To eat the apple of the tree.
The Apple had given the grifix immortality. 7000 years to produce only seven apples. Starla had chosen this grifix to look after her and anymore Queen's to soon make it to this place. To turn the cave into a cemetery for each Queen. A good place for them to spend their final days, with fresh water, food and care.
As Starla settled and laid to rest, she looked up into the grifix eyes, stating a new name. A name that will never be lost in history.

"Sparrow?" Asked a young grifix who was sitting across the campfire. "What about Aeterna's other legend? Doesn't she have two?"

"Well yes, Aeterna does have two legends in relation. Though the other one isn't particular on how she and Starla travelled to The Queen's Cemetery. Much shorter as well, would you all like to hear?"

"Yes!" Chiming each of the four young grifix.

Sparrow smiled and leaned forward, eyeing the fire.

It's said that Aeterna, during her travels with Starla, didn't have a settled sphirix shape. She had never gotten her sphirix shape during the ceremony. Once Starla had given the grifix a name, a bright light shone behind the grifix. She walked out of the cave to find her sphirix, sitting there, covering the whole sky. Aeterna had finally gotten her sphirix shape, a Roc Bird.

Her sphirix stays perched on the top of the mountain, shining a bright light to guide any other Queen who must travel there. Everyday she sets a bowl of water and a basket of fruit by the entrance in case it is the day one appears, no matter how long she must wait.
Her sphirix also uses its magic to give Aeterna a silver bracelet. To show she has done her duty to each and every Queen. Once the Queen passes, a bracelet appears. It's said that currently, she wears four. Though her sphirix does much more, shining a bright light eight times each year. The beginning and ending of each season. If we look carefully to the West, we'll be able to witness the light. Brighter than any star. If you do see the light, you know that Aeterna is there, waiting to lay to rest another Queen.

"Is it only Queens?" Piped up one of the younglings, interrupting Sparrow.

"No, Aeterna was given a bracelet when King Umbra was killed. Though the place is called The Queen's Cemetery. Kings do count, even if there's only been one. Having more Queens than Kings also makes sense to name the cave such a name."
