This plant is very different from other plants in the sense that rather than growing in the sunlight, it grows in the moonlight, as well as its colors on the inside look like the night sky. It was a plant often grown by the Everfree Village, it especially grew around the Castle of the Two Sisters and sometimes grifix went there to grab it.
In the Frozen Empire it was thought to have been lost, before a grifix accidentally found a sprouting seed between the pages of a book which happened to be in a moisty place. Unlike most plants it grows very easily in the Empire, because it can use the moonlight to grow in the long nights. The lack of proper soil is still an issue, but it can be grown by the Herbalist Guild much easier than most plants because there is no light issue.
The moon melon tastes like a mix of watermelon and mango. Sweet and refreshing. It is crunchy and delicious. It is one of the only fruit treats that the Frozen Empire can enjoy, however only on special occasions when it is distributed by the merchants guild to everyone so all guilds get their share. That usually happens on the new year holiday, on the darkest day of the year.
Because the moon is such an important symbol for the Empire, this fuit is also very significant for them culturally.
